seven poems, seven days, seventh month

Between foxes
I count my blessings two at a time.
Every fox a den.
Every nest a starling.
I feel your sky before I see it,
hear your whispered words
between the hiss and sigh of the radiator
and so I remember you like this
something I can barely touch.
