remember kid at the elementary school
self-esteem workshops you used to think
they were talking about someone else,
or maybe you knew but wouldn't say so because
it was too shameful, like how naming something
makes it real (remember the cancer scare).
any case it's a waste to feel ambivalent about
any part of your education because
it's what we all get and even if we don't like it
we'll still be expected to know it, so memorize:
this is training for life. it follows that the rest
of life will be like this. rely heavily on the structure
