Silly is not the opposite of serious.
Sitting on this porcelain, I know it for sure.
This object, the humor laden one, never reported at the end of the day,
we excuse ourselves from life to this place.
Claiming our right to the bathroom, often without speaking
it is not an escape from the world, it is an example.
A toilet is a thrown where our lavish world is neutral.
Plugged in to technological networks,
tuned out from ecological cycling,
inputs and outputs mismanaged,
responsibility abdicated to the corporate,
built-world comfort unnamed, as if universal
ignoring the centrality of our own body's functions.
I am overcome with the complexity, this gravity perched on top of absurd,
No action more simple and more loaded:
Sitting on a toilet is sitting on a thrown!
